I am recruiting for a Policy Manager with the Bank of England. The manager will initially have three direct reports dealing with operational resilience, operational continuity in resolution (OCIR) and issues relating to the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD).
This is a great opportunity to work on issues across the policy cycle, from formulating policy on operational resilience, to implementing policy with significant impact on the operational structures of systemically important banks. Added to this, there is significant opportunity to engage stakeholders on high profile matters. Particularly as Britain’s upcoming withdrawal from the EU may result in changes to the banking market and how the BRRD rules apply to banks and the PRA.
The implementation of structural reform is also a key priority for the Bank. The team is responsible for ensuring the proposed ring-fencing operational structures meet the ring-fencing objectives of ensuring core banking services are protected from risks that could impact continuity.
You will:
- Have excellent stakeholder management skills;
- Have strong analytical skills; ability to tackle multi-faceted policy issues;
- Have attention to detail and drafting/editing skills;
- Have experience of policy development;
- Have understanding of either financial services policy or regulatory policy more genially;
- Have management or mentoring experience.
