A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Policy Manager (Banking). This is a unique learning opportunity to become well-versed in all aspects of ring fencing. Ring fencing requires the largest UK banks to make important structural changes in the next few years in order to be compliant with ring fence rules by 2019. The policy covers a wide range of areas such as governance, legal structure, sub-consolidation, prudential requirements for the ring-fenced banks (Pillar 1, Pillar2 and buffers), as well as contractual terms for intragroup transactions, the management of intragroup exposures and access to financial market infrastructures (FMIs) to only name a few.

You will have:

  • Strong analytical skills – ability to think fresh and creatively about highly technical and complex issues whilst keeping in mind the big picture;
  • A good understanding of the prudential banking regulation and policy;
  • Collaborative and Inclusive – a proven team player, working actively with others in your team and among other key stakeholders to achieve common aims;
  • Decisive – ability to make good decisions under strict time pressure, deal with a wide range of complex issues and prioritise work effectively;
  • Driven – ability to apply energy, tenacity and focus to drive progress; and
  • Proactive and organised – ability to work single-handedly and progress deliverables independently.
