A charity is seeking an ambitious and experienced policy expert to lead their policy work by developing powerful, evidence-based accessible policy positions and messages. The Policy Manager will be responsible for representing these policy positions to external audiences including the media and policymakers.
You will be responsible for:
- Working with academics and clinicians to help develop clear policy analysis;
- Responding to and influencing national policy across the UK e.g. guidelines, policies, consultations, strategies;
- Developing and maintaining relationships with relevant media, civil servants and politicians and communicate policy positions;
- Analysing and translating knowledge related research into policy positions which are consistent with the organisation’s strategic aims and priorities.
Essential skills:
- Understanding of the delivery of health services in the UK;
- Excellent influencing skills with the ability to persuade effectively and deliver convincing arguments;
- Strong analytical evaluative skills, including ability to understand and analyse complex issues;
- Substantial experience in developing policy analysis and materials in support of policy statements, advocacy and campaigns which have influenced changes in policy, practice or funding.
