An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term Policy Manager with a regulator.

You will:

  • Develop, consult and implement a framework for reviewing and charging regulators;
  • Apply a clear understanding of the organisation’s regulatory purpose and approach using the range of available regulatory tools and an evidence base (which may need to be developed) to deliver effective policy outcomes;
  • Develop and conduct rigorous assessments of impact, risks and issues, including equality impact assessments, of policy proposals;
  • Develop options to address identified impacts, risks and issues;
  • Maintain knowledge of current thinking and best practice within the wider regulatory, press and public policy environments;
  • Develop approaches to research and evidence gathering to underpin the approach and process.

You will have:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience. A Master’s degree in economics is desirable;
  • Experience of developing new standards for consultation;
  • Excellent drafting skills - previous experience of writing complex documents, guidance, process, reports, analysis, Board papers and consultation documents in an accessible way;
  • An ability to define and deliver approaches to intelligence and evidence gathering to support development of an application process, identifying and deploying relevant evidence;
  • Experience of using robust project management techniques to deliver and implement programmes of work;
  • Strong decision maker, with the ability to think independently and to produce practical and clear conclusions to complex policy issues.
