The Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE) is recruiting a Policy Officer to support the team in delivering an exciting and ambitious programme of policy development and stakeholder engagement.

The Association has a growing membership, with more than 100 organisations representing a wide range of energy market participants from industrial manufacturers to local authorities and smart energy innovators.
About the role
The position covers a wide area of public policy, including the electricity, gas and heat markets, renewables, energy efficiency, planning and infrastructure, and will involve working directly with senior industry players, government departments, local authorities, regulators, parliamentarians and ministers. This role will have particular focus on the heat and energy efficiency policy spaces.
The energy system is changing, and this role will be at the forefront of helping energy users and the energy industry navigate these changes. The role will help develop solutions for local electricity generation, building energy efficiency, smart energy solutions and industrial, business and household heat supply.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive person who can become a key part of the policy and communications team. You will be finding innovative ways to achieve tangible improvements in the law, regulation and public policy that will help deliver a more integrated, flexible energy system that works for the user.
We are looking for someone with strong communication, analytical and organisational skills, who will enjoy working as part of the larger policy team. The candidate should be comfortable analysing and addressing both technical and economic issues, and be able to convey complexities effectively to a wide range of audiences. You should be comfortable engaging with new people, making connections, building relationships, and securing support for your ideas.
