A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement Manager with an energy business.

You will:

  • Build and maintain relations with relevant opinion-formers in Westminster, local authorities, the GLA and directly elected mayors;
  • Manage public affairs activities for the organisation including devising and managing the public affairs engagement programme,  establishing a programme of events and speaking opportunities, and representing the organisation externally;
  • Monitor and identify political and policy developments and provide political intelligence which is of interest to the organisation and ensure they are communicated internally and responded to effectively;
  • Advance policy positions that support the organisation’s operations and its future plans to Government, Parliament, local government, the GLA and directly elected mayors;
  • Line management responsibility for a team of three community affairs officers.

You will have:

  • High level of knowledge and awareness of the UK Parliament, the GLA and local government;
  • Experience of working in energy or another highly regulated market and knowledge of working at a local level is essential;
  • Extensive experience of working within a public policy or public affairs environment;
  • Thorough understanding of policy development and legislative processes in Parliament;
  • Ability to identify key stakeholders, decision makers and influencers relevant to the organisation and a track-record in influencing key stakeholders;
  • Strong writing skills and an ability to digest complex information and communicate it effectively and accurately for audiences of differing levels of expertise in the sector;
  • Ability to offer imaginative strategies for engaging and communicating with our key stakeholders.
