About the role

Make your mark in this newly-created role by building political advocacy for and increasing the influence of one of the UK’s largest and newest charities. Working closely with our CEO and other key champions you will help to boost our profile and shape public affairs activity on the ground by working with local teams and volunteer partners.

Focusing on Westminster and Whitehall, you’ll also work closely with colleagues in charge of government relations in Wales and the London Assembly, with regions that have newly devolved powers, and with our Policy team on responses to critical legislation and consultations. At the same time, you’ll forge strong, productive relationships with our CEO and executive team.

About you

A public affairs specialist, you probably have experience of the charity sector already and have proven you can develop and deliver effective political advocacy. Along with a long list of political contacts, you’ll bring in-depth knowledge of the UK’s political system and policy-making, plus a record of influencing everyone from politicians and policy-makers to partners and third-sector organisations. It’s a background that will have made you adept at using social media to get your message across, and skilled at writing Annual Reports that engage as well as inform. Add a talent for networking, the ability to juggle all sorts of priorities and the kind of curious, creative mind that excels at problem-solving, and you could soon be enjoying a high-profile role in one of the UK’s biggest charities.
