Roche's dynamic Public Affairs team plays a pivotal role in seeking to shape the political and public policy health environment to support our mission that every eligible patient should have access to the most clinically appropriate treatment. This is an exciting role for a highly skilled communicator in a fast moving policy environment. As Public Affairs Manager you will drive programmes addressing some of the big issues affecting the NHS today, such as sustainable access to medicines, patient safety and data transparency.

Reporting into the Head of Public Affairs, you will contribute to building Roche's public affairs strategy and drive the implementation of its tactical programmes across the portfolio. You will build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with a network of key public policy and charity stakeholders to build support for public affairs objectives.

Central to your role will be the analysis and communication of health policy developments providing strategic counsel to colleagues and the business. This will include the drafting of high-level briefing materials, detailed reports and internal strategy documents.

The delivery of campaign programmes will involve cross-functional working with product teams, public relations, medical, health economics and market access within Roche UK and the global organisation. An adept project manager, you will need to coordinate both internal and external stakeholders to maximize the impact of our public affairs campaigns in the external environment and within the business.

To be successful in this role you will be a skilled public affairs practitioner with extensive experience working in public policy, ideally within a healthcare environment although this is not a prerequisite:

  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills, be highly analytical and be capable of communicating complex information clearly across various levels both inside and outside of our organisation;
  • Be an adept project manager, able to coordinate the delivery of multi-channel communication programmes across different disease areas, working closely in collaboration with other internal functional teams;
  • You must have exceptional networking and influencing skills to ensure the successful implementation of public affairs plans;
  • You will be able to demonstrate a highly proactive approach to strategic and tactical planning, conducted with enthusiasm and drive;
  • The successful candidate will be able to operate successfully within a compliance-led regulatory environment.

We offer a competitive salary plus the excellent benefits you would expect from a blue-chip organisation, including a genuine interest in your development and progression.
