Do you have the confidence and drive to further your career in public affairs? The General Medical Council is looking for an outstanding and proactive Public Affairs Officer to support our work at the heart of UK healthcare.

We are the UK’s independent medical regulator, working to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the public by ensuring proper standards in the practice of medicine by doctors.

Coordinating the GMC’s engagement with parliamentarians, stakeholders and other influencers across the UK, your role will be to ensure that our work is promoted and understood by these groups. You will ensure we engage in a positive, balanced and well-informed manner. You’ll also have a key role in making sure that other GMC colleagues are aware of political, policy and legislative developments that have the potential to impact on our work.

Experience in the development and implementation of public affairs and stakeholder management strategies, as well as an interest in politics is essential. Experience of working within Parliament or a UK healthcare organisation is highly desirable.

Along with impressive benefits, this is your opportunity to make a difference to patients and doctors across the UK within a high-profile UK organisation.
