A new vacancy has become available for a Public Affairs Officer with Scottish Land & Estates, the membership organisation representing rural landowners and land based businesses across Scotland. The newly created role will help deliver the organisation’s political engagement and external communications functions.

The organisation strives to demonstrate and represent the contribution our members make across Scotland to both the communities to which they belong and also to the wider economy and society. We also promote the wide range of benefits land-based businesses provide: tourist attractions, leisure facilities and landscapes enjoyed by the public, as well as housing, employment, tourism and enterprise, and farming opportunities. Our members are at the heart of striving for the best future for Scotland’s wonderful countryside.

The Public Affairs Officer will play a key role in the representative work of the organisation as well as assisting to deliver an external and internal communications function. The post will report to the Director of Policy & Parliamentary Affairs and work alongside the Events & Publications Manager, the policy team and external media consultants.

The post-holder will support the delivery of the public affairs and external communications strategies through supporting activity in political representation, stakeholder engagement, media relations and assistance at events.

While this is a supporting post, the role offers an opportunity to build and develop a broad range of skills and experience across a range of public affairs related disciplines.
