A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Affairs Advisor with a high tech business based in the northern Home Counties. You will:

  • Reporting to the Regulatory Affairs Manager, the Regulatory Affairs Advisor helps the organisation liaise with the regulator, building an effective working relationship with officials and escalating issues and queries where appropriate;
  • Leads regulatory engagement on specific commercial projects, drafting proposals and submissions;
  • Provides advice throughout the company and manages internal queries regarding licensing, compliance and other regulatory matters;
  • Ensures that registers of complaints and regulatory incidents are maintained and updated, escalating issues where appropriate;
  • Continually monitors the regulatory environment to strengthen organisation's understanding of, and adherence to, the regulatory framework;
  • Manages complex requests for information from the regulator and other external stakeholders, including Freedom of Information requests;
  • Prepares ad hoc briefing papers, research and analysis on issues relevant to the Regulatory Affairs Team as required.

You will have:

  • Experience of working successfully in a regulatory or compliance role, either for an industry regulator or within an internal regulation team for a heavily regulated company, gained for example within the energy, broadcasting, water, or oil sector;
  • Proactive approach to projects and problem solving, with experience working specifically on commercial business assignments;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to explain problems clearly and concisely and recommend action;
  • Rigorous attention to detail, particularly when operating under tight time frames;
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Strong intellectual and analytical skills, including the ability to build persuasive arguments in support of a position;
  • Ability to identify key information needed to make decisions and exercise good judgement in straightforward situations;
  • Knowledge of lottery regulation advantageous but not essential;
  • Experience of working in a technology or digital environment advantageous.
