I am recruiting for a two year fixed term contract for a Regulatory Policy Adviser with a regulator. You will:

  • Develop a project or work plan for defined, complex regulatory requirements, and working with a small team to deliver against the plan.  Monitoring, tracking and reporting progress against the plan;
  • Review regulatory documents (e.g. code text and licence modifications) and crosschecking against key Design and Delivery documentation to ensure consistency and completeness with policy intent;
  • Deliver outputs relating to wider regulatory work where required;
  • Lead analysis, producing options and recommendations papers for senior decision-making boards;
  • Ensure required regulatory documentation is produced to schedule set out in the Programme Plan, and to identify and report any risks and issues that might lead to deadlines being missed;
  • Drive regulatory documents through the Programme Governance structures, ensuring timely sign off;
  • Management of workstream stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure relationships are maintained and communication channels remain open and active.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience;
  • Policy analysis – a proven track record in analysing policy issues, supporting the assessment of options and recommendation of solutions, particularly in relation to competition and consumers. Evidence of being able to develop high-quality policy papers that can inform internal and external debate;
  • Project management/co-ordination skills - proven experience of supporting the planning and management of project delivery, taking into account the input of others, monitoring and reporting on progress and assessing and managing risks;
  • Communication skills – the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels as part of a targeted stakeholder management strategy;
  • Interpersonal skills – a flexible approach and the ability to work well within and across teams;
  • Organisational skills – the ability to proactively prioritise, plan and schedule complex tasks and demonstrate problem solving skills.
