Electus is excited to offer an opportunity with an established third-sector client working on an interim contract as a Research Manager.

The Research Manager

Overseeing two members of the team, the Research Manager opportunity offers the chance to tackle a varied, exciting workload and interact with a range of stakeholders on fundamental projects.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A thirst for and in-depth understanding of central and local government;
  • Experience of bidding for research contracts;
  • A good understanding of national government, notably the legislative process;
  • A strong background in research and communications;
  • Knowledge of and expertise in efficient research tools and techniques;
  • Ability to ‘get inside’ organisations being monitored, to understand their announcements and interpret what they mean to lay people;
  • Excellent drafting skills – especially in terms of distilling long, information-rich briefing documents;
  • Ability to provide a superlative research function to the senior members in the organisation;
  • Experience of line-managing others within a team environment;
  • Strength in understanding, condensing and communicating complex issues;
  • Ability to access information from a wide range of sources – from blogs to websites.
