The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Whether advising on a local constituency news issue or supporting the Senior Press Officer on a big regional story, you will play a pivotal role in meeting the media needs of the 12 Labour Assembly Members. With an active knowledge of the issues facing London, you will be poised to respond swiftly to emerging issues. Working with the Senior Press Officer you will draft proactive and reactive press releases, comment pieces, and letters to editor, to advance the political narrative of the Labour Group. With your role particularly focused on local press, you will work closely with colleagues to deliver a comprehensive local media strategy, tailored to the needs of individual Assembly Members and their constituencies. As a custodian of the Labour Group’s positive public profile, you will act as a first point of contact for journalists, responding to comment and interview requests in a timely and professional manner.

With proven experience of providing direct support to influential, high profile people, you’re used to dealing with confidential and sensitive issues and documents within a pressurised environment. Excellent organisational, research, analytical and problem solving skills will be crucial to your success. Collaborative and diplomatic, you’ll bring to the role a demonstrable flair for communicating and influencing both in person and in writing.
