Senior Consultant, Public Affairs (Health) for the London offices of a well regarded communications consultancy.

Role description

Senior Consultant, Public Affairs (Health) will have the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee all client contact whilst offering strategic communications and policy counsel and act as client lead on billing and servicing;
  • Deliver agreed client programmes/actions with responsibility for providing timely and clear reporting on progress;
  • Develop stakeholder engagement and advocacy programmes for clients and devise strategies whilst identifying key factors that will impact implementation;
  • Maintain a high standard of writing on accounts including compelling and newsworthy content (articles, releases and pitches) and professional and timely client correspondence;
  • Develop and nurture key media relationships in the public health and pharma space whilst proactively seeking media opportunities for clients;
  • Participate in and, where appropriate, leading new business activities, including networking for leads;
  • Actively contribute content for digital channels and demonstrate a good understanding of the overall shape and role of social media;
  • Manage & guide AMs and Consultants and play an active part in delivering internal training.

Who we're looking for

Senior Consultant, Public Affairs (health) will have the following skills/attributes:

  • Public affairs and market access experience with corporate issues and pharmaceutical brands or charitable organisations;
  • An understanding of NHS architecture and UK health policy;
  • Demonstrable track record on leading on various client accounts (desirable);
  • Good presentation skills and pitching capabilities;
  • Proven new business development and networking ability;
  • A strong personal network of contacts across politics, policy, NHS, third parties, etc;
  • Some understanding of Brussels and EU healthcare agendas (desirable).
