I am currently recruiting for a Senior EMEA Government Affairs Manager with a pharmaceutical business in Surrey.

You will:

  • Provide Government Affairs support to the EMEA-wide operations through the project management of regional GA initiatives that deliver an innovative best-in-industry service to all areas of the business. Responsible for managing work of third party suppliers (Government Affairs agencies);
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders (GMs, CMs, MAx Leads) to develop and implement two-way communication flow, ensuring critical Government Affairs information is constantly and consistently exchanged between the EMEA team and all the Affiliates, building positive working relationships that increase GA awareness and the sharing of best practice;
  • Support the preparation and implementation of Government Affairs strategies in the Major, Mature, Developed and Emerging Markets’ Affiliates;
  • Proactively seek and interpret internal and external intelligence regarding relevant political developments from a variety of sources across the EMEA region (including Fitch Solutions, Market Research, news agencies), to enable the GA team to identify, understand and prepare for changes in policy that will affect the organisation;
  • Develop monthly Government Affairs reports and news items for the organisation.  internal circulation, informing on key GA developments.

You will have:

  • Either in-depth understanding of EMEA or UK industry and regulatory requirements for the Pharma sector;
  • Comprehensively understands the impact of commercial activities in the market as well as how Regulatory and Governmental Affairs can impact and shape the marketplace;
  • Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously in a multi-cultural context;
  • Can identify and propose actions to mitigate risks and threats before they become acute;
  • Sound judgement and able to challenge respectively and constructively;
  • Impactful and credible internally and externally, able to effectively influence and deliver results and communicate persuasively using language and concepts that resonate well with political stakeholders;
  • Collaborative and co-creational role-model, working horizontally and vertically;
  • Fluent in oral/written verbal business English (ideally with a second European language).
