The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) is responsible for distributing nearly £4 billion a year for teaching and research in universities and colleges and is the lead regulator for higher education in England. Our mission is to create and sustain the conditions for a world-leading higher education system.

The Department for Education has asked HEFCE to manage a number of gateways into higher education. We are looking to recruit a Senior Higher Education Policy Adviser to lead the policy development and project management of several of these gateways.

To succeed in this role, you will have excellent project management skills and a confident and positive approach. You will be able to lead a team and work effectively with others at all levels. You will be committed to achieving high standards with a real eye for detail. You will use your detailed knowledge to contribute to policy development in a fast moving policy environment. You will be an excellent communicator who can work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will need to work flexibly to contribute across the team, and be proactive in solving problems to meet challenging deadlines. Experience of higher education or other regulatory body experience would be an advantage.
