Age UK is looking for two first-class Senior Media Officers to join its busy media team.

Senior Media Officer – Policy & Campaigns (Job ref: CW049)

You should have experience working in media relations with a strong knowledge and understanding of current affairs and the political environment.

The role will involve developing and delivering media strategies for core influencing areas, building strong relationships with journalists, editors and broadcasters and playing a key part in the media team.

You will come from a media environment, with a strong news sense, political awareness and have a strong track record of delivering high quality national coverage. You will also have excellent writing and communications skills and be adept at spotting opportunities for attracting the media’s attention.

Senior Media Officer – Consumer Content (Job ref: CW053)

The primary focus of this role is to lead on developing and implementing a consumer content PR strategy that will secure high-quality consumer media coverage - across print, broadcast and online - that builds the profile of the organisation and its brand.

The role will also support the Media & PR team’s activity in general which spans the organisation’s work, working closely with Media Managers. 

We’re looking for someone from a PR environment who is a confident media handler with bags of creativity and a strong contact book of consumer journalists and writers to pitch a variety of stories that drive awareness of Age UK’s work. You will also have a flair for identifying and maximizing opportunities.
