The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

A prominent trade association is currently seeking a Senior Policy Adviser (Brexit Negotiations) to join a team responsible for ensuring the voice of business is heard and considered in shaping the UK’s current and future relationship with the European Union.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching and drafting papers on policy positions relating to the UK/EU negotiations such as the Single Market and Customs Union etc.;
  • Engaging with the business community and other stakeholders to consult on their views and input into policy positions;
  • Contributing to the drafting of speeches and media lines.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • A strong academic background with a 2.1 degree or equivalent in a relevant subject;
  • Good knowledge of UK and EU political landscape – and in particular the post-referendum landscape;
  • Demonstrable experience working on EU related policy issues in a policy development and/or public affairs capacity;
  • Strong research and writing skills with good attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral + written) with the confidence to engage with senior audiences from the political and business communities;
  • Native level English speaker. European and international languages and work experience a bonus.
