A prominent trade association is currently seeking a Senior Policy Adviser (Brexit Negotiations) to join a team responsible for ensuring the voice of business is heard and considered in shaping the UK’s current and future relationship with the European Union.
Responsibilities:
- Researching and drafting papers on policy positions relating to the UK/EU negotiations such as the Single Market and Customs Union etc.;
- Engaging with the business community and other stakeholders to consult on their views and input into policy positions;
- Contributing to the drafting of speeches and media lines.
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
- A strong academic background with a 2.1 degree or equivalent in a relevant subject;
- Good knowledge of UK and EU political landscape – and in particular the post-referendum landscape;
- Demonstrable experience working on EU related policy issues in a policy development and/or public affairs capacity;
- Strong research and writing skills with good attention to detail;
- Excellent communication skills (oral + written) with the confidence to engage with senior audiences from the political and business communities;
- Native level English speaker. European and international languages and work experience a bonus.
