Do you want to use your knowledge and experience to drive policy change to improve the lives of people with cancer in the UK? We are looking for a pro-active policy professional with in depth knowledge of social care and carers to help shape and drive our policy agenda on care and support.
Reporting to the Policy Manager (Cancer Care and Support), you will play a leading role in our policy team, using your expertise and knowledge to ensure our policy work is authoritative and relevant to the complex social care landscape.
Working as part of the Policy and Influence (Health and Care) team, you will develop policy positions and solutions that work across the four nations of the UK. You will work closely with colleagues in Evidence and Macmillan’s service delivery teams to ensure our policy work is highly credible and grounded in the diverse everyday experiences of people affected by cancer and professionals.
You will support the work of colleagues across Policy, Campaigns and Influence, Communications and our Services teams, providing expert advice where appropriate. You will also provide advice to senior colleagues and represent Macmillan externally at events.
For this key role you will have an in depth understanding of the policy issues relating to social care and carers, and experience of delivering high-level influencing, ideally in relation to people with care and support needs. You will be able to demonstrate experience of working as part of a team to develop and implement influencing objectives, and be a skilled communicator with a proven ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
Our benefits include private medical insurance, life assurance, pension, childcare vouchers, generous leave, and interest free loans for season ticket and gym membership.
