Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Our client is a well established and regarded charity based in London.

The Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer will have the following duties/responsibilities:

  • You will report directly into the Head of Policy and Campaigns to grow parliamentary support for the organisation locally and nationally and their key campaigns;
  • Your key external stakeholders will be MPs, Peers, civil servants, other charities and healthcare professionals.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong influencing skills;
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Westminster and the UK political system;
  • A proven track record in policy analysis and development;
  • A good networker with excellent people skills;
  • Previous experience of engaging with and influencing MPs and legislators;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good time management and project management skills;
  • The ability to think strategically;
  • Understanding of health and/or social care issues in the UK (Desirable).
