A well regarded independent regulator in the medical arena is seeking a senior policy officer. The successful applicant will assist with the organisation’s evidenced based regulatory. 

Main duties and key responsibilities

  • Develop evidence based policies to ensure that the regulator upholds its role of protecting and maintaining public health to the highest standards;
  • Review and update their policies as necessary, using initiative to identify and overcome any policy short-comings;
  • Work on their policy responses to external consultations;
  • Commission policy research, manage and occasionally contribute to desk based policy research;
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with relevant individuals across the organisation as well as The Department of Health, other regulators and relevant stakeholders.

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A strong academic background to degree level or equivalent;
  • Demonstrable experience of developing policy, this need not be from within the health arena but that would be seen as an advantage. This could be gained in Professional Bodies, Think Tanks, Central Government Departments or in health focussed charities.
