A professional body in the healthcare sector is currently seeking a Senior Policy Officer to lead on the development of policy positions relevant to the organisation’s healthcare policy agenda.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing policy positions on specific healthcare issues;
- Develop responses to national consultations;
- Provide counsel to Members on relevant policy issues;
- Engage with external stakeholders on the organisation’s priorities through meetings and other fora;
- Supporting a variety of committee meetings (agenda setting, notes, follow-up actions).
Required knowledge, skills & experience:
- A strong academic background to degree-level or equivalent;
- Knowledge of the current health and social care landscape;
- Experience of policy analysis and development (ideally health policy);
- Experience of attending and/or organising committees and external meetings;
- Demonstrable experience of working with senior internal and external stakeholders;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt style to suit different audiences.
