An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Manager energy.

You will:

  • Be a key resource within the Regulatory Affairs team focusing on defending against and mitigating risk from existing and potential formal investigations and enforcement action;
  • Respond to external compliance related Information Requests and/or alleged breaches of supply licence, including Standards of Conduct, by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures;
  • Ensure proper reporting of risks and issues to Ofgem as appropriate and/or required;
  • Work closely with Ofgem (and other relevant stakeholders) to manage investigations and enforcement action in a way that minimises exposure to reputational damage and financial penalties;
  • Identify potential areas of compliance and regulatory vulnerability and risk; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance (e.g. other enforcement action) on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

Person Specification:

  • The candidate will be able to demonstrate that he/she has strong regulatory/compliance experience, ideally relating to our downstream energy business, and is capable of managing high profile and complex issues.
  • Experience providing compliance support in a regulated industry is extremely desirable.
  • He/she will have excellent written skills, and be able to respond to compliance related Information Requests, consultations and formal investigations.
  • He/she will have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, be confident, pragmatic and have excellent commercial judgment and strong communication skills.
  • He/she will have a flexible approach, the ability to identify and resolve compliance risks.
