The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

My client is a leading UK membership body who currently have an opportunity for a motivated and commercially-minded individual to lead their lobbying and member engagement activity across the government sector at a crucial time for business and politics.

Working alongside and supporting teams of policy professionals, there will be engagement with senior sector leaders to develop policy, build relations with government officials and politicians, as well as communicating members’ views to a wide range of external audiences.

The Key Responsibilities for the role are:

  • Research and analysis of public policy;
  • Drafting of papers, policy briefs and responses;
  • Discussion with members individually and at committee meetings;
  • Responding to members’ queries;
  • Writing articles for membership updates;
  • Leading project work in support of team goals;
  • Managing stakeholders in support of project success;
  • Influencing policy decisions by lobbying UK MPs, civil servants, regulators and EU institutions;
  • Representing the organisations policy positions at conferences, external meetings and possibly through the media;
  • Establishing relationships with senior leaders within member organisations that work in the sector, leveraging the full range of policy, networking and intelligence to drive increased membership retention and satisfaction;
  • Supporting the development of sales materials specifically focused on the sector including letters, briefings and sales packs.

The successful applicant will be degree educated, with experience of public policy but also commercial experience. Someone that has experience of managing accounts and relationships would be a good fit for the role.
