A leading authority on international standards is currently seeking an individual to provide policy advice on issues concerning the UK exit from the EU, with a focus on standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance to UK authorities on the impact of Brexit on the regulatory and standards setting environment;
  • Conduct the necessary research and analytical work on the standards and regulation interrelationship;
  • Provide the necessary insight and advice on upcoming Brexit negotiations internally and contribute to UK government negotiations as appropriate;
  • Work with a variety of contacts within the UK and across Europe.

Required knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Significant experience of providing advice and guidance on technical regulation;
  • A strong understanding of the impact of EU and UK regulation;
  • Ideally, knowledge of WTO rule, regulations and standards;
  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to quickly understand complex and unfamiliar information;
  • Demonstrable experience of working with UK and EU institutions.
