The Health Foundation is an independent charity committed to bringing about better health and health care for people in the UK.
The External Affairs Manager (Stakeholder Relations) will build strong and productive relationships with the wider communications directorate, colleagues across the Health Foundation, the chief executive and directors’ team and external stakeholders including arm’s-length bodies, parliamentarians’ staff and civil servants. You will lead and support the delivery of parliamentary and stakeholder engagement strategies, manage an effective, coordinated corporate approach to identifying policy influencing stakeholders and engaging with them, providing accurate and timely intelligence about and analysis of political, policy and stakeholder developments across the UK.
This role in particular focuses on stakeholder engagement for strategic priority to influence national policy on the NHS in England, working closely with our policy teams and The Health Foundation’s REAL Centre.
Leading on the development, delivery and evaluation of integrated communications plans the successful candidate will draw on expertise from across the communications team and blending communications disciplines as appropriate, contributing to the development of the Foundation’s overarching influencing and communications strategies, supporting strategy development in close collaboration with colleagues, as required.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable and significant experience of leading design and delivery of impactful and timely reactive and proactive stakeholder engagement activity and experience of developing, implementing and advising on integrated communications plans and strategies. You must also be able to demonstrate experiencing of aligning public affairs with media activity to achieve maximum influencing impact. In addition, you will have the communications, engagement, writing and editing skills required to be a success in the role as well as the organisational and project management discipline necessary for effective delivery.
