Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

The role

We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, creativity and professionalism to manage our engagement with the media and parliamentarians in England, Scotland and Wales.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the media and public affairs activity for the independent regulator of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacies in Great Britain. You will be working directly with national and trade journalists, parliamentarians and their staff to help raise awareness of our work to protect patient safety and improve standards of care for people using pharmacy services.

This role will be home-based and is a great opportunity for someone to make the role their own by leading on impactful and engaging projects, working with senior colleagues across different teams and building our media and public affairs activities.

The successful applicant will:

  • Lead on the development of integrated communications and engagement strategies and plans for projects and specific activities;
  • Be able to understand complex information and communicate this verbally and in writing in a practical and engaging manner, whilst also being creative, proactive and confident;
  • Support key activities and projects within the Communications team, including the development of the GPhC website;
  • Own a varied and exciting workload whilst working with colleagues across all teams, including our Council;
  • Have a great opportunity to further develop your own personal skills and experience whilst working within a supportive and diverse team;
