Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Join the Network

I am currently recruiting a Policy Adviser (employment) UK with a body in London. You will:

  • Consulting with members to develop policy positions that represent the business view on a wide range of employment issues;
  • Providing members with political and policy insight and intelligence so that they can make more informed HR decisions;
  • Working with stakeholders and partners, such as civil servants, trade unions, public agencies and international employers’ organisations, to support the objectives of members;
  • Contributing to the delivery of a compelling offer on Employment Policy issues that encourages more businesses of all sizes and sectors to join the organisation.

You will have:

  • Experience of working in policy development, public affairs or research;
  • Strong research and analytical skills – including quickly picking up new issues and concepts, assessing new information, proposing solutions and advising colleagues;
  • Excellent oral and written communication – including the ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences;
  • Influencing skills – including the ability to persuade policy makers of the benefits of working with business to achieve joint employment policy aims;
  • Good interpersonal skills – including the ability to maintain member satisfaction and manage external stakeholder relationships, and to collaborate with a range of internal teams to deliver the Employment Policy team’s work;
  • Organisational skills – including delivering complicated projects with multiple moving parts in a shifting external environment;
  • High personal efficiency, proactivity and flexibility, with the ability to work well in a team – including working independently or with others in a fast-paced and at times pressured environment.
