I am currently recruiting a Policy Analyst with the Lending Standards Boardwho will support two Policy Managers to carry out the LSB’s policy work programme.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing briefings, drafting consultation responses and have an interest in the review and development of policy within the financial services industry. The role will also involve analysis of management information and other sources of data to inform the LSB’s understanding of the effectiveness of the Standards of Lending Practice and the wider industry codes we have responsibility for.

The post holder will also be responsible for the co-ordination and distribution of papers to the LSB Board. This includes taking the lead for the co-ordination of the Board pack, liaising with colleagues across the organisation on key areas of work to ensure that the information submitted is accurate and up to date. The post holder will also provide support to sub-committees, panels and other LSB meetings, as required.

In addition to the above, the Policy Analyst will support the Policy Managers in overseeing a triage function to address queries from internal and external stakeholders on the work of the LSB and represent the LSB at external events and meetings.

You will have:

  • A policy, regulatory, legal or economics background
  • First class analytical skills, including the ability to understand and interpret data, research the issues, support the development of policy options and reach sound conclusions;
  • The ability and enthusiasm, and good organisational skills, to maintain momentum on multiple and sometimes competing priorities and tasks;
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills with experience of dealing with stakeholders at all levels;
  • Excellent planning skills with attention to detail and capable of seeing the ‘bigger picture’; and
  • The ability to research and write high quality reports and briefing documents.
