IHPN is the membership network for independent healthcare providers across the UK. We play a leading role in the sector by bringing independent providers together, representing their interests, and supporting them to deliver great care to patients.

The covid19 response has highlighted the crucial role played by independent healthcare providers in the UK health system. As we move beyond the initial covid19 peak, the challenge now is to return services to normal levels for both private and NHS patients. IHPN will be playing an important role in helping the sector meet this challenge, alongside our regular services and support for members.

We are seeking to appoint a new Policy and Regulatory Executive to join our regulatory affairs function and contribute to the delivery of key strategic projects. This post within the small IHPN team will play a key role in delivering IHPN’s policy and regulatory affairs work in an exciting and fast-moving part of the health sector.

The successful candidate will work on developing and communicating policy positions across a range of topics. This includes high profile work on the recommendations of a public inquiry into safety in hospitals as well as the regulatory environment for the full range of IHPN members. You will also work to drive the policy agenda for our established member networks in Scotland and Wales.

This role will be a key part of the team and you will lead on monitoring and interpreting regulatory change in England, Scotland and Wales. You will work with senior internal and external stakeholders and help to deliver benefits to our members through formulating high-quality policy positions and outputs. This includes, but is not limited to, the regulatory frameworks of the CQC, PHE, NHSE, GMC, Royal Colleges, and devolved administrations.

The successful candidate will have experience of policy or regulation work in a relevant context and a good knowledge of policy issues in the health sector, along with excellent communication skills and be comfortable working independently as well as part of small teams.

Location: London (currently mainly home working with the possibility that at least some time will be spent in our central London office in the months ahead).
