Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

The Association of British Orchestras is looking to appoint a Policy & Communications Manager to join its small, busy, energetic and committed team. The Policy & Communications Manager will work with and deputise for the Director in engaging with key stakeholders including government departments, politicians, the media and funding agencies, and will help deliver the ABO’s annual conference and other events.

To fill this diverse and demanding role the ABO is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and out-going person with imagination, self-motivation and organisational flair. The post-holder will often be required to work alone and unsupervised and to plan their own work efficiently. Specific qualities we are looking for include:

  • Experience of research and public affairs;
  • Excellent communication and “people” skills;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Interest in and enjoyment of classical/orchestral music.
