The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

I am currently recruiting a Policy Manager with the Lending Standards Board.

You will:

  • Support the Head of Policy and Legal to manage the regulatory change process to ensure that developments in the broader regulatory environment are assessed for impact on the Standards;  
  • Analyse available MI to identify trends to support the LSB in its assessment of the effectiveness of the Standards and the codes of practice we oversee;
  • Undertake desk-based research, drafting responses to consultations and other industry facing requests, as required;
  • Represent the LSB at external events and industry related projects;
  • Work with colleagues within the LSB and beyond in an advisory capacity to shape their thinking and ensure mutual understanding of respective policy positions; and
  • Support the development of high value relationships with key trade bodies, consumer and business representatives and regulators to ensure that they are made aware of the LSB work, findings and initiatives.

You will have:

  • A regulatory policy, legal or compliance background, with experience in the UK financial services industry and with a good understanding of the regulatory landscape;
  • Ability to interpret rules and regulations and provide well-reasoned opinion based on objective assessment of and analysis of regulation, rules and guidance;
  • The ability and enthusiasm, and good organisational skills, to maintain momentum on multiple and sometimes competing priorities and tasks;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience of dealing with stakeholders at all levels;
  • Ability to form judgments quickly based upon the balance of information gathered;
  • A team player willing to contribute enthusiasm, ideas and suggestions, and provide constructive challenge;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to research, write high quality reports, deliver presentations and contribute to meetings.
