Working in the Policy, Economics, Public Affairs and Media (PEPAM) team, the Public Affairs Adviser will support the delivery of ADS campaigns on industrial and political issues and lead several specific projects and events to further the trade association’s political reputation and goals.

We are looking for a confident self-starter who can demonstrate initiative, has a proactive approach to problem solving and can communicate clearly to internal and external audiences.

This role provides the ideal opportunity for someone with a good grounding in politics or public affairs to take the next step in their career as part of a dynamic team in an ever-changing political environment. The successful candidate will be working on high-profile projects with senior political and industry stakeholders across ADS’ sectors.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a political research or public affairs role with a background and understanding of UK political institutions and the current political landscape.

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate an interest and understanding of key political issues affecting ADS’ sectors (aerospace, defence, security and space). Additionally, we are looking for a candidate with knowledge of wider business or manufacturing issues.

Experience of managing events to achieve ADS’ political objectives, dealing with political attendance at events and liaising with external stakeholders.

You will be a confident self-starter, have a clear and concise communication style, including proficient written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organisational skills, effective time management, and the ability to multi-task and prioritise your own workload.

We seek a pro-active candidate with the ability to work as part of a team, learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities and manage a busy workload.
