A proactive, tenacious and results-focused individual is required to deliver Liquid Gas UK’s public affairs activity at a critical time for the LPG and bioLPG industry, with regulations across the UK setting the future course for the industry due to be developed over the coming months and years.
Now is an exciting time for the Public Affairs Manager to be joining Liquid Gas UK as industry navigates its way through fast-paced policy change, with significant opportunity for progression and being part of a team in shaping the future of the sector.
Overseen by the Chief Executive and reporting to the Director of Public Affairs, the Public Affairs Manager is responsible for developing and promoting Liquid Gas UK policy positions with regard to energy; namely domestic, commercial and industrial heat decarbonisation, industry resilience and the reform of the EPC methodology.
This includes the analysis of information to support the position, development of appropriate arguments and the delivery of these to relevant industry stakeholders, officials, parliamentarians and Ministers in UK Government and the Devolved Administrations, by building relationships, running an engagement programme and by responding to consultations.
The role requires the ability to refine relevant policy proposals, understand their nuances and likely impact on the LPG industry and source relevant supporting information and data. Equally important is the ability to communicate these to, and synthesise the views of, Liquid Gas UK members through the Public Affairs Strategy Group, of which you will provide secretariat, and present the outcome persuasively, both in written form and face to face.
Additionally the role will support the Chief Executive and Director of Public Affairs on strategic projects or operational matters that the Board consider fall within the remit of the Trade Association.
The role is home-based; however, the job requires travel to London and periodic travel elsewhere in the UK and Europe.
