Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

Do you have the confidence and drive to further your career in public affairs? The General Medical Council is looking for an outstanding and proactive Public Affairs Manager to support our work at the heart of UK healthcare.

We are the UK’s independent medical regulator, working to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the public by ensuring proper standards in the practice of medicine by doctors.

Managing the GMC’s engagement with Whitehall and the Westminster Parliament, your role will be to ensure that our work is promoted and understood by these groups and that we engage with them in a positive, balanced and well-informed way. You’ll also have a key role in making sure that other GMC colleagues are aware of political, policy and legislative developments that have the potential to impact on our work.

All in all, you’ll manage the GMC’s public affairs activities and communications to improve the knowledge of our organisation with politicians and UK government officials.

Expertise and insight in public affairs and politics is essential, along with any experience working within Parliament or a UK healthcare organisation. This is your opportunity to make a difference to patients and doctors across the UK within a high-profile UK organisation.
