Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Join the Network

With responsibility for the day to day running of the press office at this influential organisation, you’ll take the lead on proactive media stories in addition to dealing with press enquiries, protecting and enhancing the organisation’s reputation.

Additional responsibilities will include producing media briefings for spokespeople, drafting op-eds and speeches for the CEO and the senior management team, overseeing the delivery of social media content, and holding editorial oversight of external publications.

Target media include national, local and sector journalists, both print and broadcast, and as such, you’ll set up broadcast interviews and brief and coach spokespeople, but you’ll have the opportunity to act as spokesperson too. 

Degree educated and with proven experience of working in media relations in a busy press office environment,  you’ll demonstrate a track record of engaging with journalists, producers and editors,  explaining complex issues succinctly and producing press releases, op-eds and articles with a premium on attention to detail and quality. Experience of managing social media accounts is essential and you’ll be socially adept with a collaborative style, proactive and self-motivated with a keen team ethic.
