To help us with our exciting journey of transformation, we’re creating a brand new team that will help us build stronger relationships with a diverse range of health organisations.

The General Medical Council (GMC) helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.

We cannot achieve this mission by ourselves. As one of our three new Strategic Relationships Officers, you’ll work as a team to transform the way we manage our relationships and help us to deliver our ambitious corporate strategy.

Working closely with a variety of colleagues, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of relationships and help us build valuable, long-term partnerships with health regulators, professional bodies and patient advocacy groups. With an in-depth understanding of mutual issues, agendas and goals, you’ll provide strategic advice on relationship issues and identify opportunities for making those relationships better.

This interesting role in a complex, fast-paced environment will see you providing strategic advice, evaluating the health of our major relationships and creating development plans, and producing regular briefings and updates using our stakeholder management system. You’ll have external affairs experience, ideally in healthcare.

A great organisation to work for, we can offer you good opportunities to develop your skills and career.
