Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Westminster Forum will hold a lunch meeting with Martin Donnelly, Permanent Secretary at the Department for Business, Innovation, Skills. The event will be hosted by Instinctif Partners.

About Martin Donnelly

Martin Donnelly is the Permanent Secretary for the Department of Business, Innovation & Skills. He was appointed in October 2010. Martin has extensive economic and international experience, he:

  • joined the FCO Board in 2004 as Director General, Europe and Globalisation, where he was G8 foreign affairs sherpa
  • was the Deputy Head of the Cabinet Office European Secretariat, leading work on European economic reform for the government between 1998 and 2003
  • has been a member of the personal staff of Leon Brittan, then European Commission Vice President, and been on secondment to the French Finance Ministry

Martin has worked on policy across Whitehall. He was Policy Director of the Immigration and Nationality Directorate at the Home Office and led the Treasury team controlling defence spending and managing European monetary issues. He also served as Private Secretary to the Financial Secretary to the Treasury and the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.

Founded in 1976, we are an independent, non-partisan and not-for-profit organisation to promote dialogue between the worlds of business and politics. We are not lobbyists. Our funding comes entirely from corporate subscriptions and sponsorship. Westminster Forum has established a reputation for the quality, prominence and accessibility of our speakers, drawn mainly from the world of politics, administration and business.

The forums are usually held over breakfast or lunch at a City or central London location and are hosted by one of our corporate members. We also hold occasional small dinners with a guest speaker. We follow the Chatham House rule.
