The League Against Cruel Sports is seeking to appoint a Public Affairs and Research Intern on a 3 month contract to join our Campaigns team. This is a new and exciting opportunity to join the UK’s leading animal welfare charity campaigning against cruelty to animals in the name of sport.

Established in 1924, the League is Britain's leading charity working to stop animals being persecuted, abused and killed for sport. The League was instrumental in helping bring about the landmark Hunting Act. We manage sanctuaries to protect wildlife, carry out investigations to expose law-breaking and cruelty to animals, and campaign for stronger animal protection laws and penalties. We work to change attitudes and behaviour through education, fact-based videos, scientific reports and public engagement events.

The role is initially being appointed to provide administration support for a number of public events, including our annual Parliamentary Reception. In addition, you will help provide a research function for the Policy, Communications and Campaigns team. This will involve researching material in support of our media team and bespoke research projects.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work across different operational functions within the department but the primary focus will be Public Affairs and Research. This role would suit a well organised individual with strong research skills, an interest in policy and parliamentary affairs.
