Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Do you have a passion for public affairs? Are you looking for a role working in a successful public affairs team? If so, we are seeking a highly motivated Public Affairs Assistant to support the Local Government Association’s (LGA) Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement team in its work with parliamentarians and stakeholders. This is the ideal opportunity for you to progress your public affairs career by joining a team that works with closely with Parliament.

This permanent position is based in our communications directorate. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to help the Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement team in the delivery of briefing materials for relevant parliamentary and campaign activity. Demonstrating a ‘can-do’ attitude, you will also support the team in its work influencing parliamentary debates, parliamentary committees and legislation.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in politics and current affairs. You will be highly organised, an enthusiastic team player and comfortable working to tight deadlines.
