The Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA) has announced that current Head of Policy and Communications Peter Hills-Jones will be promoted to CEO following next month’s departure of Sally de la Bedoyere. Hills-Jones will assume his new role on Monday 3 November as the current CEO leaves to join animal charity Blue Cross.

Hills-Jones joined the PFRA in Mach this year from stints as Executive Director of a Business Improvement District and Senior Policy Adviser to a local authority. His background includes four years working for the House of Lords and boasts almost 15 years of political, policy and management experience.

Paul Stallard, Independent Chair of the PFRA said: “I am delighted to have appointed such a high calibre candidate from within the company. Through our succession planning, we have ensured continuity and guaranteed a seamless transition. I and the Board have every confidence that in Peter we have found the right person to lead the PFRA into the future.”

Sally de la Bedoyere, outgoing Chief Executive added: “Since Peter’s recruitment, I have been enormously impressed with his understanding of the major issues facing the sector. He has provided me with outstanding support throughout his time in post and I know he will do a superb job for the entire membership.”

Peter Hills-Jones, newly appointed Chief Executive concluded: “The PFRA plays a vitally important role and I look forward to working with all our members to build on the many successes of the last two years. Although there will be many challenges ahead, I believe we have the right strategy and team in place to further drive up fundraising standards and ensure self-regulation continues to be a great success.”
