Communications and public affairs consultancy Hume Brophy has appointed industry veteran Simon Elliott as Managing Director of its new International Corporate Communications Practice.

Elliott will take up his new role at the start of October and will be based in London. He will help grow a corporate communications offer across all Hume Brophy’s European and South East Asian network. Previously, Elliott was working as Managing Director at FTI Strategic Communications.

Hume Brophy’s CEO, Conall McDevitt said: "Simon’s appointment will significantly strengthen our offer across our existing territories and will allow us to expand into new ones. We already have a pan-European and Asian reach with strategic hubs in Dublin, London, Brussels, Paris and Singapore, which allows our clients unmatched access to the highest level of international decision-making."

Elliott said: "Hume Brophy has one of the strongest track records in the markets where they have a presence and are clearly a business destined for even greater success. The opportunity to participate in a global leadership role in the next stage of their growth is clearly a unique opportunity which I am very much looking forward to."

Building out from a core group of clients, Elliott plans to recruit sector specialists into the new International Corporate Communications Practice, taking advantage of some of the company's existing areas of specialisation, including aerospace and defence, financial services, energy and property communications.
