The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Our expert team works with key decision-makers in Whitehall, Westminster and the NHS to inform the development of better public policy. We are looking for a dynamic candidate to join our growing team. The role would involve a wide variety of tasks and opportunities for professional development.

Tasks would typically include:

  • managing projects;
  • developing client relationships;
  • conducting research;
  • developing and conducting campaigns and engagement programmes across the NHS, DH, Westminster and beyond.

The successful candidate would ideally have proven consultancy experience and some, but not necessarily all, of the below skills:

Public affairs experience: 

Knowledge of Westminster and politics, ideally gained through working at a public affairs consultancy.

Health experience: 

An active interest in healthcare policy, preferably with experience of health campaigns spanning Parliament, the Department of Health and the NHS.

Communication:

Excellent drafting skills (briefing documents, letters, powerpoint presentations) with an eye for detail; confident speaker with good interpersonal skills; ability to listen and absorb information.

Research: 

Ability to synthesise large volumes of information and distil into clear and insightful messages; ability to think strategically, logically and pragmatically about complex issues.

Client relationship management:

Adept at dealing with clients to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard and that client expectations are met / exceeded.

Project management:

Systematic approach to project management and ability to deal with multiple strands of work and coach more junior members of the team.

Academic background:

Likely to have at least a 2:1, or equivalent, from a top tier university.
