This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced communications and stakeholder manager to join The Crown Estate, an independent commercial business created by Act of Parliament.

As rural and coastal corporate affairs manager this is your chance to shape the reputation of one of the nation’s largest land owners, responsible for managing substantial forestry, agricultural, housing, leisure, renewable energy and coastal interests, together with around half of the UK’s foreshore.

Your knowledge of local politics will enable you to formulate strategies that strengthen our relationships with elected representatives and officials.

You will offer multi-disciplinary communications skills and a keen interest in and/or solid understanding of rural and coastal issues; from the impact of Bovine TB on farming communities and development of onshore wind farms, to housing and the growth of sustainable rural and coastal communities.

Experienced at managing and developing media relations and community engagement plans, you will also support internal communication for our rural and coastal business and the development of marketing collateral and key messages. In Wales, you will take the lead for the corporate engagement programme, shaping our reputation at the highest levels of Welsh Government.

To succeed, you will combine a keen eye for reputational risk and opportunity with an understanding of political contexts. Able to master multiple complex briefs, you will also oversee communications for our £1.5 billion of prime regional assets.

Your attention to detail, creativity and relationship building skills will enable you to advocate externally and internally to strengthen trust and support the success of this £1.5 billion landholding, stretching from south west England to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
