Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

This is an ideal role for an established external relations / public affairs professional with an excellent understanding of the health and care systems across the UK, and experience in successfully influencing policy and practice.

About this job

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the influencing work of the MS Society. The role will ensure that our external relations programme is targeted to those areas we believe will have the most positive impact on the availability of treatment, care and support for people affected by MS. As manager of the external relations team the post holder will seek to develop the talented team even further, ensuring they feel happy and supported in their respective roles.

The post holder will be armed with excellent negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of external and internal stakeholders. You will approach work with a positive, can-do attitude and be able to demonstrate a successful track record of achievement in external relations / public affairs. You will be joining the Society at an exciting stage of its development and this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and friendly team.

We offer 27 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays), a 35 hour working week, travel loan and various others various other benefits such as supported developmental opportunities.
