Are you interested in joining a professional body that puts the public good at the heart of everything it does? Do you want to be at the forefront of policymaking work that will empower over 5,000 landscape professionals to protect, conserve and enhance the natural and built environment for the public benefit? The Landscape Institute is looking for a dynamic and experienced policy professional to join the staff team at its London head office.

Today’s world presents many challenges for society. Climate change and population growth are placing strain on our infrastructure, while globalisation and technological advances are accelerating the pace of change to a level we have not seen before. We firmly believe that the landscape sector, with its breadth of specialisms and wealth of collaboration and management experience, is best placed to take the lead in meeting these challenges head-on.

As Head of Policy and Influencing, you will lead a team of policy consultants mostly based in the devolved nations to build the LI’s influence and engage stakeholders, fellow professional bodies, members and the wider public in the work that we do. You will also manage our Future Talent Manager, who is responsible for helping attract the next generation of Landscape practitioners. You will be a consummate influencer, with a peerless working knowledge of educational, governmental and industrial institutions and a proven track record of policy development and leadership. And you will take a long-term view of the needs of the profession, placing great importance on inspiring the next generation of landscape professionals.

The Landscape Institute is the chartered body for the landscape profession. It is an educational charity working to promote the art and science of landscape practice. The Landscape Institute provides a professional home for all landscape practitioners including landscape scientists, landscape planners, landscape architects, landscape managers and urban designers.
