The Organisation represents humanities and social sciences and is seeking a Head of Policy for a period of 12 months, to commence in early April 2017.

Job Description

This interim post will cover the maternity leave of the current post-holder and, once the post-holder returns, will also continue to work directly with the Chief Executive and Director of Research Funding and Policy on strategic, high-level special projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, creative individual, with a proven track record of effective engagement with stakeholders and experts who influence and shape policy.

The purpose of the post is to drive and lead the Organisation expanding the Public Policy programme in a way which amplifies their national role and value in high-level debates and informs and influences policy through expert analysis and advocacy, reporting to the Director of Research Funding and Policy.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have proven experience of policy engagement in a senior role, experience in the development of strategies in line with organisational priorities, and significant management experience of a talented Policy team.

In addition, the successful candidate will have a pre-existing network of policymakers and experts and a demonstrable record of delivering successful projects with impact, including the ability to represent at the Organisation with decision makers at senior levels.
