Our vision is a UK rich in native woods and trees for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland. At the Woodland Trust, we influence policy makers and opinion formers, to work with us to ensure society fully maximises the benefits and opportunities from our trees and woods in the 21st century.
Supporting the Head of Government Affairs and the Northern Ireland Director, the Lead Government Affairs Officer will have a central role in planning and delivering the Trust’s lobbying and will use this to build relationships with, and influence, key decision makers.
A commitment to the Trust’s aims is a must, as are outstanding written and verbal communication skills and understanding of how to deploy them within a political context.
You’ll need a strong understanding of current affairs and must be able to demonstrate experience of influencing policy and building strategic relationships with national decision-makers and policy influencers. An existing knowledge of Northern Ireland’s politics is desirable.
In return we recognise and value our people. You'll have our full support, training and opportunities for professional development, along with a contributory pension, life assurance and good holiday entitlement.
