Our client is a well-regarded UK membership body representing members from high profile markets. This is an exciting opportunity for a Media Manager to join their team, working alongside the Head of Communications and confidently taking the lead on enquiries from journalists, drafting documents, social media and briefings.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Responding to media queries and monitoring social media;
- Publicising the work the organisation undertakes to improve the business environment for its members;
- Anticipating media queries and preparing Q&A’s;
- Arranging media briefings and preparing spokespeople;
- Drafting the release to accompany the publication of monthly market statistics;
- Preparing copy for corporate documents or trade journals;
- Occasional weekend or evening duty;
- Office admin to ensure smooth running of the press operation.
Key skills:
- Solid and demonstrable experience of PR (Financial PR would be an advantage);
- Advanced drafting skills, and awareness of differing tones for differing audiences;
- Ability to prioritise and plan, and use own initiative to cope with competing deadlines;
- Experience of crisis communications;
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
